Hello, my name is J.S. Tribble artist of Tribble-Industries. I am taking a Digital Art class at the University of Memphis and is learning how to use the Digital Medium in a more comprehensive way than experimental hunt and peck. I hope to become better on the Digital Frontier, as well as increase the effect of my Traditional art style called HYBRID.
Here are some photographs of the materials I like to study or entertain as concepts for my class at the University of Memphis. Some concepts and materials will change over the course of my class, and personal efforts at experimentation.
I have wide interests, and ideas from things I have learned. So this compilation of photographs is not totally indicative of the artist himself, or his ideals. [More like a preamble.]
Leonardo Da Vinci is one of my favorite historical figures, and I aspire to have practical artwork concepts like this man. His art style is unique and is practical and useful in almost all scenarios.
Natural Settings the attempts to capture the life and movement of nature into artwork is the highest level of proficiency for an artist. Nature gives some of the most complex and detailed art sources and studies ever in our history.
Composition is key for an artist to communicate or appeal to the viewer, as in the case of this photograph the multiple levels of composition make for an unforgettable and easily identifiable piece. Composition is one of the keys for my studies and attempts at artwork.
Landscapes require subtlety of hand and eye to mimic natural landscapes in total. Also a good artist must have some understanding of backgrounds [landscapes or otherwise] to make their artwork believable or appealing to the viewer in depth or concept.
Elements are a key for artists to achieve either effective operation of artwork, or symbolism and realism. Elements can be used as actual art materials shaping the artwork itself, or realization of artwork. Elements are organized in semi-traditional concepts: Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Light/Shadow, and Entropy [meaning the degradation of the four previous elements].
Environment is the way an art piece is formed, shaped, or colored can imply a context that a viewer can relate to. This art piece is related to the sci-fi RTS game Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, and implies to the viewers a particular context of the game's environment. This is key to making believable or unbelievable art that viewers will be entertained by.
Commentary artwork is another way of communicating the ideals, conflicts, history, and concepts of a time period. As in this picture many can attribute commentary by viewing this image of a bogged down tank. Is it about Nature vs Man? Is it the inevitable reclamation of industrial might by nature? Or, does it tell a story of an unlucky tank crew on their way to battle becoming stuck in the mud? [Ergo for the want of a nail, the shoe was lost, for the want of a shoe the horse was lost, for the want of the horse the knight was lost, for the want of the knight the kingdom was lost.]
Biological [ Anatomical, Botanical, or Zoological] artwork is helpful for communicating information on the natural world and biological engineering of the world around us. Art during this time maybe of high use for future applications of Engineering, Entertainment, or Information. In the same thought process Non-Biological [Engineering, Scientific, and Architectural] artwork is also a relative and are useful in this time and age, although technology has supplanted these artistic skills.
Fashion artwork shapes our everyday use of clothing, and body image visualization. However, sometimes fashion artwork tends to stray immensely from practical or efficient concerns. As these four designs show artistic differences in concept, only one will be accepted into the public domain as usable. [Probably the furthest left design.] In this way one can see how artwork can literally impact the physical world for good or bad.
Artistic Storytelling is a rather old and established art set in the world. Such artwork is used to tell stories, visually show the world at that time as is idealized, or immortalize the exploits of cultures and civilizations. Such artwork can be used for fantasy, propaganda, entertainment, or mythology of a culture or time period. Many times the skill and level of detail of the art is in proportion to the epic exploits portrayed. [Whether or not they are true as shown must ascertained]
Visionary Art is artwork that literally over time will shape the world's designs and concepts of the future. Usually, related to works of fiction, sometimes such concepts mold future engineering and scientific advancements. In some cases they literally change the society in which the art was manufactured.
Realism and its contemporary Abstract art help bring across visualization of artwork and time. This World War II U-boat appears to be leaving port for operations at sea. The realism in the artwork helps the viewer to almost feel that are on a boat in that same port, watching this shark of steel head off for the deep ocean. Realism and Abstract [or a hybridization or combination of the two concepts] must communicate something to the viewer, if not one has not achieved the goal of speaking to the viewer.
I hope to become more versed in the Digital Frontier, and test my skills, and concepts out as my time at University of Memphis is being kept busy.
